The universe of IHANNA HOME offers functional and fun home accessories based on strong sculptural aesthetics, deeply entrenched in the Icelandic landscape, wildlife and literature. The collection excels in integrating function and beauty into highly original and modern products for the home.
Created in 2008 by award-winning graphic designer turned product designer Ingibjorg Hanna Bjarnadottir, IHANNA HOME collection launched with Krummi, a playful coat hanger from painted plywood which almost immediately caught the attention of the international design media.
Ingibjorg Hanna transitioned from graphic design to product design almost unconsciously, driven by her strong passion for creating something new and exciting out of ordinary utilitarian objects. Ingibjorg Hanna’s background in graphic design is strongly reflected in her recent collection of napkins and tea towels where simple graphic lines create an impressive optical illusion.
IHANNA HOME collection has featured in design magazines and newspapers around the world, such as Elle Decoration, Icon, Livingetc and the Sunday Times and exhibited at esteemed exhibitons such as Maison & Objet in Paris, 100% Design in London and Tokyo and exhibitions on contemporary Icelandic design in Shanghai, Helskinki and Stockholm.
Ingibjorg Hanna runs her studio in Reykjavik and is one of Iceland’s leading designers. Her collection is exclusively produced in Europe, using natural materials such as wood, cotton and concrete.
